M S Nath asked:

Having a baby is a great joy for parents. Bringing a baby into the world brings many responsibilities. It is important to be prepared well in advance to buy some essential products for your new born baby. Taking proper care of baby is one of the responsibilities in every mother’s life. Try to buy some innovative products that make babies’ lives easier and comfortable.

Strollers provide an excellent service to parents and child caregivers. These vehicles make it easier to safely transport a child. Select a best child car seat and use it properly from the moment you bring baby home to every car ride after that. Play yards are also ideal for travel as a crib for younger babies to nap in. Get babies bedding set with a crib bumper. Ensure that the sides of the bedding set are cushioned. Having the proper baby furniture and bedding is essential. It would be nice to have a whole room designed to a nursery theme with crib, rocker, bassinet, and changing table. Baby Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets that are well designed and comfortable allow babies to sleep deeply and longer.

As for baby clothes, pamper your baby with cute outfits, little booties, and hats. Not to forget diapers, they are essential to keep changing very often. Make sure you buy plenty of them in order to avoid last minute shopping. When shopping for toys, always insist on buying safety products.

You no longer have to hunt around at your nearest baby store to get the best variety of products. Shopping online is the easiest and best way to get the largest variety and the most information about baby products. Buying them involves lot of expenses. But you can make great savings online. There is one site that offers coupons to get discounts. There is a wide variety of stores where you can get all baby items under one roof. You can select the stores and find coupons just with the click of a mouse. You can save anything from 10% – 50%. There are free shipping offers and also there are promotional offers where they would give you fabulous discounts and carry home surprise gifts. Coupons are the best deal for great savings especially when purchasing in bulk. This would save time and money.

Shop online and visit the site for coupons and coupons codes and make best use of it to avoid huge expenses.

www.coupons4save.com

Try using one baby, two babies, three girls or boys, four smiles and so forth. Embellish pages with baby stickers, die cutouts and bright, colorful numbers. Add pages and pictures throughout baby’s first year. Baby scrapbook theme albums can be used not only to preserve special moments, but also to learn numbers and counting.

Animals, Animals Everywhere

Does your family have a pet? How many stuffed animals are in your baby’s room or toy room? How many times has your family visited the zoo? Savor all these animal memories by creating an animal and baby scrapbook album. Use traditional film or a digital camera, take photos of your baby with his favorite teddy bear, playing with your cat, dog or other pet, sleeping in his crib with stuffed animals and photos from your trips to the zoo. Decorate with animal stickers, appliqués and animal theme pages to create a special animal and baby scrapbook theme.

All About…Me!

If you have the exquisite blessing of having twins or triplets, you will realize that each child is unique. Each baby should have its own baby scrapbook album. Create pages that set each baby apart from his sibling. Make two or three pages with similar themes for each baby scrapbook, which highlight each baby’s “firsts”, holidays, smiles, giggles, and baby’s favorite toy. When your baby becomes a toddler then a teen, he will appreciate his own baby scrapbook.

Kimberly Green asked:

The day of the baby shower is just around the corner, and you’re still wracking your brain, hoping to figure out the right kind of gift to buy for the expecting mother. With so many options out there, where should you start? Gift registries, gift idea magazines, even articles such as this have so many ideas to throw at you, that it’s quite easy to get overwhelmed. Well, you should try and start simply. First, consider the big ticket items that are very popular as baby shower gifts. Cribs, bassinets, Moses baskets, and other furniture items are popular choices for gifts for a baby shower. Of course, these items are somewhat expensive, so in many cases it is the close family member or friends of the mother to be that purchase them. Or, party guests may get together and purchase a playpen, car seat, recliner or other high-priced baby shower gift as a group present. More economical choices for baby shower gifts are popular for obvious reasons. It’s always nice to be able to give the mommy-to-be your very own present, one that is just from you, will be enjoyed, but won’t necessarily send you over budget. These types of gifts for a baby shower include such essentials as diaper bags, travel packs for the car, baby wipe warmers, diaper pails, crib bedding sets, baby monitors, bottle warmers, slings and baby carriers. Finally, there is quite a list of low-end baby shower gifts that don’t cost a lot, but definitely provide the recipient with function and appeal. Packages of diapers, diaper organizers and changing table organizers, books on parenting and babies, baby toiletries like nail clippers and brushes and combs, bibs, bottles and pacifiers, other eating utensils like plates and bowls, and toys and soft, plush animals. Of course, you don’t necessarily have to purchase pre-manufactured and pre-packaged baby shower gifts. If you really know the interests and preferences of the expecting mother, consider putting together a care package for her, her baby or even both of them. If she is planning on breastfeeding, skip the purchase of bottles, and instead assemble a care package that contains supplies and essentials for breastfeeding. The same approach could be used for a woman who is planning on using cloth diapers for her baby. Your choice of baby shower gifts for her might be a package of cloth diapers and covers. Remember, no matter what you choose to purchase for your choice of a baby shower gift, be sure to remove price tags and include a gift receipt before the day of the shower.

A baby play yard provides you with a safe, highly portable and convenient place for your baby to play happily in. Twenty years ago, these were known as playpens and were simply a square wooden pen, but today, they are more sophisticated and high tech, offering so many more features than they did years ago.

If you do any traveling with your baby, then you know how difficult it can be to provide a crib. The benefits to having one of these are many. They provide a place for your child to sleep and play safely whilst still being prevented from wandering off.

One of the greatest benefits for parents is how easy and convenient these are to carry, use and store. They simply fold up and many are then stored in their own cases, making travel so much easier and more bearable.

Nowadays, there are portable play yards with integral music players, lights, sounds and other handy timesavers like changing tables and room for storing toys.
It’s incredible how baby play yards have progressed.

James Stein asked:

When others find out that you are pregnant then many people will gladly give you advice, even when not requested. Although many of the items are handy and work well, there are many that play upon your fears as a first time parent.

The following list tells you about the items that you will want to think about purchasing. To save money, you can even look at second hand stores for many of these items or ask friends with babies older than yours if you can borrow or purchase their items.

* A car seat is mandatory, as hospitals will not even let you leave with the baby until you show them that you know how to buckle the baby in the seat. Many times, they will also follow you to the car to make sure it is installed correctly in the car. Car seats will be outgrown at least twice before your child grows out of them by the age of eight. If you are considering a second-hand car seat, ensure that it meets safety requirements.

* A baby monitor is a great tool to be able to hear the baby from any room in the house. This way you do not have to stay close to their room all the time. At night, I recommend that you turn the monitor off because you will hear every moan and movement that the baby makes and this can keep you awake. You need to get your rest to take care of your baby.

* When you are choosing a crib, you need to look for one that has these features.

-*- Choose a good quality mattress that is firm.

-*- The mattress should fit the crib snugly on all four sides.

-*- The guardrail should be at least 26 inches above the top of the mattress.

-*- The crib slats space should be no more than 2.375”.

-*- The crib bumper will help keep the baby’s legs and arms out of the crib slats.

* A bouncy seat is a great place for you baby to be when it is not possible to hold him/her and is a great place to feed them their first meals of rice cereal. They cannot usually sit up well enough for a high chair when they begin cereals and the bouncy seat is a great answer to this problem.

* A playpen is a great way for you to get things like housework done and keep the baby safe. Around five months old is when a baby should be placed in it, unless it is used for a sleeping area when you are traveling.

The following is additional things that you need to make sure you have taken care of before your new baby arrives.

* Do you have your birth-plan detailed out and have you discussed it with your doctor or midwife and your husband?

* Is your suitcase ready to go or do you have the supplies that are need for a homebirth organized?

* Is your emergency contact list ready just in case you go into labor unexpectedly and at a time that your spouse or partner is not available or are at work?

* Do you have the nursery setup and ready for your new baby?

* Does your new baby have a family?

That last question may seem a little strange, but we plan so many other parts of our baby’s lives that sometimes we overlook the basic thing that your baby needs a family. I am not going to even get into the political battle of single moms having children, I am simply going to advocate for a family for your baby.

Your parenting goal is to build strong relationships for your child so that you will give them confidence in themselves. A weak marriage does not do this and it does not give children confidence. Good parenting flows out of a stable and good marriage. If you protect your relationship with your spouse, then your children will be happy and healthy too!

Many times when a new baby joins a family (remember that you and your husband are a family before children), the marriage is not taken care of. Many times this is because of exhaustion, lack of time, lack of energy, etc., but you need to keep your first love healthy.

Before you bring your new baby home, take the time to consider your marriage. If you need to work on your marriage, do it now. Babies respond to stress so you want to keep your home life as stress free as possible. Besides, you don’t want your baby to start out life being stressed, now do you? Keep your marriage healthy so that your family will be healthy as well. You will never regret the time that you put into it!

Abhishek Agarwal asked:

Just a few days back, I happened to attend a baby shower on the behaldf of my young friend who is expecting the first child. I noticed that most of the attendees there were all college friends, with no issues as yet.

Of course, some gifts called for a lot of explanation. Also the would be mothers looked surprised with many things. They all were under the impression that ‘baby layettes’ are just another item on the checklist of the items that you must buy before the junior arrives. But this li’l term culminates to a lot more than that. Here are some tips to prepare for the young one.

1. You must have around four to six of all the basic daily needs of the baby.

2. These include items such as undershirts, onesies, sleeping gowns, footsie pajamas, hooded towels, socks, receiving blankets, washcloths, etc.

3. Be prepared to have some arrangement for daily clothing as having a child means multiplying the laundry exponentially. You surely would not like to leave the child with a spot food spot on his/her last clean shirt and move to the laundry.

4. Plan a lovely going home outfit. This would be an emotional, sentimental & memorable moment that would be clicked by several relatives and shall be a nostalgic moment for the entire house.

5. Further, plan for the baby’s nursery that is an adjustable crib that meets with your ever growing baby’s needs. You shall surely need the baby’s bedding in the form of a crib or a bassinette along with a minimum of two to four sheets for the same.

6. Along side for the crib you would also need a crib bumper, and 2 to 3 crib blankets.

7. You might also want to consider picking out some dust ruffles and waterproof pads for this crib. Though these would be needed a bit later.

8. You shall also need a playpen to carry your new family member along with you to the social gatherings, friend’s or family’s visits, etc. These playpens are also useful to park your kid in another room with in the house in order to fetch out sometime for yourself in the early months.

9. Plan the baby clothes in a way that you are able to stock up sizes from 3 – 6 months of age. This sis because sometimes the baby is larger than the average size of the newborn, or he/she has a faster growth.

10. You must have at least one large box full of the newborn sized diapers when the baby comes home. However, the baby would soon outgrow these so, do not stock them in that bulk. It would be wise to pick these diapers from a sale.

11. For the bathing & hygiene needs of the child you would need the following items:

a. 2 to 3 bottles of baby shampoo

b. 1 bottle baby oil

c. 1 bottle baby lotion

d. 1 pack of baby powder for which corn starch works as a great alternative

e. 1 tube of zinc oxide to wash the diaper rash

12. Even the mothers who are ****** feeding the baby, 6-12 bottles along with the ******* & collars are the basic needs. Those who are not ****** feeding the baby might need some extra ******* as well.

Alta asked:

My sister advised me to buy a toddler travel bed because it is becoming an increasingly popular child sleep aid for parents who need to travel frequently. I purchased the travel bed, as I need to go for official tours frequently and my daughter always feel at home because she stays in her familiar travel bed

Toddler travel bed is not only helpful outside your home but also allows children to sleep safely while in a transitional bedding phase. These portable beds provide a safe alternative to a large, unknown sleeping area that a child may come across when staying in a hotel room during a vacation or spending the night at grandmas house or during camping.

Child’s travel bed is also a great way to accommodate a child who has outgrown the space of their crib, but is not yet big enough to spend their nights in a regular-sized bed. In this case, parent can save money by bringing a travel bed into their home for a lower price rather than buying an “in-between” bed

All new parents should purchase a good quality childs portable travel bed. Toddler travel bed should provide ample airy comfort that will send your little one soaring into dreamland. Inflatable air mattress beds are very popular because it allows children to drift quietly off to sleep.

Sometimes a simple cot selection will also do for your toddler, while lightweight play yards have been known to serve as a safe and fun opportunity for sleep. Here is some helpful information on different types of portable beds available for toddlers

Portable Travel Bed and Bedding is Must for Parents

A portable travel bed with rail is preferred choice because it makes sure a safe night of slumber awaits your little one. When portable bed is filled with air, a helpful sleep aid is created for children who are traveling on vacation, visiting a friends house, or would like to sleep in different parts of their own home.

Many air mattress models come with an air pump and can be inflated in less than a minute. This option is so handy that it can even accompany toddlers on a camping trip and make taking a nap at their daycare center much more comfortable.

Peapod Travel Bed

Peapod Travel Bed is an inflatable mattress that offers a little extra security in its design. Surrounded by a zipper pocket, the mattress is covered by a fold-down design that pops up and twists into a comforting shelter for your toddler. When placed into its compact position, the Peapod is easy to transport, as well as clean. The sleeping pad is washable and the entire unit can be used for both indoor and outdoor adventures. You can buy Peapod Travel Bed from toysrus

Additional information on childs portable bed

There are also different items on the market that allow parents to transform various bed sizes into a safe environment for a toddler to sleep in. Some travel beds of toddlers

are easy to pack and are often fashioned to fit any twin bed. Parent should buy a travel bed, which can be packed in a suitcase.

Max Info asked:

Being a parent takes a lot of responsibilities on us. All parents want to develop their child safely and quickly after his birth. But there are a lot of stuffs to do to take care of the baby. Parents monitor baby in his all activities such as playing, sleeping, bathing, feeding, etc. They might be confused if their baby is developing in a right way or not. They keep track of timing of baby like feed time, sleep time, bath time, etc as a note in a notebook. But here is the idea of keeping Baby log in iPhone, recent phone developed by apple. There are many applications which provide this type of facility. The advantages of such applications are described here in this article.

The first advantage of having iPhone Baby log application is its portability. You can keep log of your sweet baby’s activity anywhere you want. You have to just keep the iPhone with you. It will help you to keep track of your baby’s activities during travel. You don’t need to record it on old fashioned pen and paper. The application also provides an easy to use environment of operating. Since iPhone is a touch screen device, the track of your baby is on your finger-tips. Another advantage is its alarm system. Once you have set time for any event, for example feeding, it will alert you at the right time to remind you about the event.

Imagine a cute little CGI baby’s face that fills the entire iPhone screen and is programmed to move like a real baby. You can touch it and it responses to your touch. It will just act like your own baby. It is really great to fill the response of baby like this and iPhone applications make it true. You can get a categorized record of your baby. You can store timings of your baby in a calendar. Feed timings, Diaper change timings, sleeping times and other timings can be set in a Baby Log Application. You can also set quantities of the same. Number of diapers per day and number of feed per day can also be recorded and notes can be mad eon each of these. You can also set notes for each event. Each event will contain event name, time, date, and notes for that event. Each event is recorded and retrieved for the further use. Average values for weeks and months can also be set. That means you can once store something on the phone and than use it in the future. Editing is another useful advantage. Once you have stored something and then you want to change it then it will be difficult in paper. But here in iPhone Baby Log Application, it is easy to edit something that you have stored before.

The advantages described here are not the only advantages. There are many other advantages of the iPhone Baby Log Application. The described advantages are just a few of them. Even you may have found other advantages of the same application.

Niharika Gupta asked:

Ask first time parents-to-be what baby shower gifts they would like to receive. Watch their response — you’ll quite likely see a look of real confusion on their faces! Or maybe they’ll come up with a stock answer like “diapers” or something similar.

Exactly what a new arrival needs is not obvious to someone who’s never had a baby before. And many times, guests are in no better position either, when it comes to deciding on baby shower gifts.

Of course, there’s a lot more to baby showers than just gifts. But helping parents to stock up for the new arrival is an important part of these celebrations.

That’s why the following list of top five baby shower gifts can be quite useful.

Top gift #1: Monitors

Monitors are excellent anxiety-busters, especially for first-time parents. That’s why they hold the No.1 position on this list.

Once they can listen to the baby from anywhere in the house, parents find their confidence levels zooming. The latest monitors are very sensitive and can pick up the slightest sound from baby, even her breathing.

If your budget allows for it, take it one step further and buy a video monitor. That’ll really ease anxiety. However, they are much more expensive, so perhaps this can be a joint baby shower gift from two or more guests.

Top Gift #2: Playtime mate for baby

Babies love to play. Anything that helps them play and be active not only keeps them engaged, but also stimulates all round development.

One of the best products for them is an activity gym or playpen. This is a soft cloth mat surrounded by a baby-friendly structure of bars and arches with many different toys suspended from various points or go on www.create-super-baby.com. Baby gets to play in a safe environment.

Basic activity gyms are excellent baby shower gifts. There are also more advanced ones that include noisemakers and a variety of toys. The suspended objects have different colors and textures to help develop baby’s cognitive abilities.

There are also excellent portable gyms and playpens available to help parents move around with baby. These are lightweight and designed to be easy to carry around.

Top Gift #3: Baby sling

most babies love being carried around in a sling. It’s the next best thing to being cuddled in mom’s arms. Many parents have had the experience where babies get restless and cry while they use other types of carriers, but immediately calm down when put into a sling.

Baby slings are believed to foster a closer parent-child bond. Whether that’s true or not, slings do have another great advantage — they leave your hands free to do other things. That’s definitely a big plus and is a reason why this baby shower gift is highly appreciated.

Top Gift #4: The baby travel pack

moving around with baby can be a chore — you have to pack a seemingly endless array of baby stuff even for short outings.

One way to ease this problem is to have one or more baby travel packs handy. What’s a travel pack? Essentially, a diaper bag filled with baby necessities. It can include disposable diapers, a small toy or two, bib, complete change of clothes for baby, safety pins, and other supplies.

It’s a great advantage if the parents receive more than one travel pack. Then one pack can always be kept ready whenever they want to go. No need to mess around with picking up and stuffing items into a diaper bag at the last minute.

Top gift #5: Car seat

Lots of parents say that a well-designed car seat is a wonderfully useful baby shower gift to receive. In fact, it’s useful from the moment they leave hospital with the baby.

There are infant car seats available as well as infant-toddler convertible seats. The former can be used only till the baby is up to 22 pounds or so (typically). While the latter can usually be used till the first birthday.

Both are great baby shower gifts specially designed for the baby on the move!

Make sure these top five baby shower gifts are part of the event you’re hosting. The guest of honor will end up thanking you long after the party gets over!

Madeleine Fitzpatrick asked:

Many leading childhood development experts believe that we all have far greater potential in our early years than society gives us credit for. Waiting until school to begin providing consistent intellectual stimulation to a child is no disaster. But in doing so, we miss a unique window of opportunity for learning.

What can I do after birth?

Above all, now that your baby is finally here, you should enjoy interacting with her as much as possible. Talk, read and sing to your baby. Hug, cuddle and kiss her. Spend time playing with her, following her lead once she is old enough to show you what interests her. Enjoy this special time when your child is small – it will pass by all too quickly!

Besides the essentials above, there’s plenty more you can do to engage your baby’s brain. Auditory and tactile stimulation remain important, as they were in the womb. You can also help your baby develop his motor skills – and learn to read before he starts school!

Auditory Stimulation

*Play music (see above for suitable genres) around the house. You might also consider playing foreign language CDs from time to time. Your baby will absorb the sounds of a second language subconsciously, helping her to accurately hear and pronounce that language when she’s older.

*Talk and sing to your baby as much as you can. When talking, ask questions and avoid baby talk.

*Read a large variety of books to your baby, pointing to every syllable of every word as you read.

Tactile Stimulation

*Regularly massage your baby.

Physical Development

*Your baby’s physical and intellectual developments are inseparable. Crawling, for example, can improve your baby’s vision, which in turn could affect how easily he learns to read and write.

*Encourage mobility by placing your baby on her tummy at regular intervals. When she’s older, give her the freedom to crawl and walk around; don’t hem her inside a restricted area such as a playpen, or do so as infrequently as possible.

*Rock and swing your baby to improve his vestibular (balance) system. Turn your baby upside down – he’ll love it!

Diet and Feeding

*Do your best to breastfeed – exclusively for the first six months, and with ****** milk as your baby’s primary source of nutrition up to the age of one. Breastfeeding moms should eat a healthy diet that includes plenty of fish.

*When introducing solids, expose your baby to a variety of foods as early as possible. Include plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit, as well as fish.

Reading and Math

*You can begin flash card reading and math programs as early as four months. With consistent practice, most babies taught in this way can effortlessly recognize words and perform instant math calculations before kindergarten age.

Joyful Learning

*Avoid putting pressure on your child. Learning should always be a joyful experience.

Playtime

*Prioritize play – babies and children can’t learn without it. Make sure your child has plenty of toys that stimulate her to explore and be creative. Take time out on a regular basis to play with your child.
